DWC  ANNOUNCEMENTS AND RECAP FROM OCT 5TH  2026,   and a recipe.

  2. NEW MEMBERS:  Brian and Spencer were welcomed.
  3. NEWS AND IMPORTANT UPDATES:  (Aaron A. and others)
  4. LEASE discussions with Kindred Works:  DWC has offered an increased rent amount and the landlord indicates that we should hear back from them later this month.
  5. NO MEETING next week.  Thanksgiving Monday!
  6. SPECIAL MEETING Monday Nov 2nd will focus on Training at DWC, finding a balance that ensures members are trained in safe and effective use, and that machines are treated properly.  101 course may be parsed into smaller chunks?  Volunteers may be sought to facilitate this.  Members with ideas and willingness to participate in solutions are especially invited to attend this important meeting!
  7. WOOD STORAGE in back room and shop.  There is a sign up sheet and process in place in the back room…clip board, tape, pen…you label your wood and write on the clipboard and wood stays a maximum of 30 days.  THERE WILL BE A ONE TIME CLEAR OUT OF ALL WOOD THAT IS LEFT IN THE ROOM ON NOV 2…. Take your wood home or it will be gone.  This is a serious matter as it affects our fire safety and could get us shut down.  Also- NO BARK is to be brought into the shop – remove it and leave it at home.  Excess unclaimed wood will be disposed of weekly in future weeks after Nov 2nd.  You CANNOT use DWC as your personal storage bin!

EASY CHEESE BISCUIT RECIPE… because several of you asked about those tasty treats!

Combine the following:  2 cups flour, 1 TBSP baking powder, ½  TSP salt,  ½  TSP sugar, half TSP garlic powder, half TSP onion powder, 1 to 2 tsp chopped chives, 1 to 1.5 cups shredded cheese and some parmesan grated (1/4 cup), 1 cup milk with 1 TBSP vinegar mixed in, ½ to ¾ cup small cubed cold butter.  Mix all ingredients well then place globs onto parchment paper on cookie sheet.  Bake at 425 degrees for about 20 minutes… makes 10 to 15 biscuits (scones?)  ENJOY.
