Good Morning Rob,
I wanted to thank your membership again for their enthusiasm and generosity in supporting the 2018 Durham Region Mayors’ Gala supporting Ontario Philharmonic.
Another item, I am writing about is – I need someone to build a few foot stools for me. I have the design. I have had these stools made for about 15 years and I give them as a baby shower gift. I am from a large family and I detest seeing all of the plastic items given as gifts at baby showers I attend. So, I came up with an idea that was spawned through my own parental experience.
Our first born had a foot stool that helped her get to the bathroom sink and other places she was unable to reach. When her brother came along, he mistakenly (hahahahah) took her foot stool to assist in getting up to the bathroom sink, of course. She went nuts. That was her stool, she proclaimed, and not for sharing.
We went off in search of another stool.
The stools I have given to family members since were engraved or with a burning tool, enblazened with the child’s birth information – name, weight, length, time of birth, day. These items are bound to be keepsake items. As a matter of fact, our first-born has her stool in her home, prominently displayed and she is 40 years old now.
Would any of your members be interested in such a project? I usually order about 10 or 20 at a time. I usually purchase the material and deliver it to the woodworker.
I would love to hear from you. My next baby shower is November 25th and I am fresh out of stools.
